Prologue
The County of Warwickshire is located in the English Midlands and amongst its many historic places there is none more famous than Stratford-upon-Avon, which in the 12th century became a thriving market town after King Richard granted it the right to have weekly street stalls.
Whilst now known around the World as the 16th century birthplace of William Shakespeare, the town also owes much of its historical growth and prosperity to the aristocratic Clopton family, some of whom are buried in the chantry chapel built along the aisle of the Church of the Holy Trinity and close to the chancel where the ‘Bard of Avon’ is also laid to rest.
In the 13th century Sir Robert de Clopton was granted the vast country estate on the Northern edge of Stratford-upon-Avon by King John, which grounds comprised hundreds of acres of land and low lying hills centred around an old Manor House and deer park, that became known as Clopton Park.
Over the many centuries that followed, the family’s wealth eventually diminished due in part to their decadent lifestyle, until in the 18th century Sir John Clopton became the last recorded direct male heir.
After his death, the estate was transferred through successive female descendants to their respective husbands, until by the end of the 19th century it was sold off and no longer held in the ownership of any remaining Clopton relative.
When war broke out across the World at the beginning of the 20th century, it was time for Katrina and her husband Tarak to travel back to England from Ireland with their teenage twins and stay on the Clopton estate.
Once there, they were to help look after the injured soldiers in the field war hospital being built within the grounds of where Katrina originally lived with her parents, but was now owned by the Reverend Francis Hodgson.
Kane & Kara would both soon be sixteen years old, but they had never been told anything about their true ancestral birthright.
Reluctantly however, Katrina knew the time was coming for her to disclose this and in doing so she would send them on a journey they would have to complete together, if they were to discover the destiny that fate had set them.
Whilst only known to a few scholars of medieval history when the HOUSE OF KLOPT0N was re-discovered by Sir Robert, its long forgotten secrets still remain concealed deep within the heart of the Clopton Park estate today, despite the Manor House and its extensive lands having been converted into late 20th century residential properties with an adjoining Nature Reserve.
